For S&C Coaches, Sports Scientists, Physiotherapists and Nutritionists
Turn The Latest & Most Important Sports Research Into Actionable Programs, Exercises and Drills
Stay up-to-date and save hours of time with the world’s most applied and hyper-focused sports science research review
The Performance Digest is a monthly review of the latest and best sports science across 7 different categories.
That's more than any other research review out there.
It breaks down this cutting-edge research into usable tactics and strategies, created by and for evidence-based coaches...
...But you can just call us the blinkest of sports science reviews
Every month, our team of expert (and active) coaches, doctors, trainers, and physios search through…
57 sports science journals…
...over 1,000 NEW studies…
And personally handpick the most relevant and powerful research for you based on their insider industry knowledge.
But that’s not all…
Each study published in the Performance Digest is reviewed by one of our “pracademics” - an academic who is also a practitioner in their field - to give you a quick (but detailed) summary of the sports science before you get to the most important part of the review:
The practical takeaways.
Here, you get highly-specific advice from one of our active coaches on exactly how to apply the research in your coaching practice.
And it doesn’t end here…
Each month, you'll get access to:
19 Sports Science studies reviewed in 7 unique categories
We present 19 different pieces of research in every issue of the Performance Digest - covering more sports science studies across more areas of coaching and athletic performance than anyone else.
The Performance Digest is a downloadable PDF “electronic magazine” that lets you read it and use it anytime, anywhere, on any device.
Every Performance Digest is automatically made available inside the members area (that you can access as a subscriber), and an email is automatically sent out alerting you to the new issue.
And it’s interactive - you can skip to any section from the table of contents with the tap of your finger or click of your mouse.
The studies are divided across 7 unique sections:

Here's What Our Coaches Have To Say...
Used by members of:
"I used to use various methods of keeping up-to-date with studies, such as word of mouth and internet discussions. This became a hodgepodge of information for me...
John Cheetham, Endurance Coach, California
"Whenever I'd try and stay up-to-date with the latest sports science research, it turned into a stressful ordeal.
I longed for a quicker, more efficient way of staying up-to-date, that wouldn't break the bank.
When I found Science for Sport, I started to see results instantly.
Having access to research that's reviewed by a panel of industry experts means that I can quickly dissect what I need to know, and practically apply these findings straight away.
Relieved and filled with confidence, I now spend less time pouring through Google and more time on the things that matter, such as acquiring more clients and educating myself.
To be exact; I've freed up a total of 4hrs a week!"
Michael Richards, Performance Coach, Ohio

Meet the Man Behind Science for Sport and The Performance Digest
My name is Owen and I’m the founder of Science for Sport and creator of the Performance Digest.
I was formerly the Head of Academy Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning at Cardiff City Football Club, and an interim Sports Scientist for the Welsh FA.
During my internship at Cardiff City FC with the U21s and 1st team, the position for “Head of Academy Sports Science” opened up and I knew this was the opportunity I had to seize.
After a grueling interview process…
I got the job.
But just one week in I was hit with a problem coaches and trainers have to deal with constantly:
Knowing the answer to a tough (and expensive) question.
My manager, the Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine asked if we should spend $80k USD on GPS units for the academy. The pressure mounted when he told me he had to make a decision fast due to limited stock.
I didn’t know the answer.
Were they reliable? High-quality? Worth the cost?
I had used some versions of this GPS technology in the past, but my experiences with the technology certainly didn’t live up to the claims the manufacturer was making.
I was now in a position of authority (that I had wanted most of my life) and had to make a decision…
But I didn’t have the knowledge to make one that was informed and backed up by reliable data.
So, I did the only thing I could:
I promised I would do intense research and return with a fact-based answer the following morning.
That promise wasn’t easy to fulfill.
I searched everywhere I could to find a concise summary of GPS technology to make sense of it all - accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, GPS modules, algorithms, etc.
I found 5 individual studies.
But they each looked at different brands, models, and algorithms, and none of them even discussed gyroscopes or magnetometers.
My research only turned up contradictions between these 5 studies.
So, I went back to my manager and told him the truth:
“Very little information exists on this technology and my experience with them suggests they’re not worth the investment. I don’t think we should buy them.”
So we didn’t.
And this entire experience lead to an epiphany that eventually led to the creation of Science for Sport and the Performance Digest:
Coaches and trainers need a trustworthy and easy-to-understand resource that cuts through the jargon, bias, and contradictions in sports studies and only delivers the essential information you need to make smart decisions and implement the practical takeaways from these studies on day one.
A resource I wish I had when my manager first asked me that question about GPS units.
That’s when I decided to create this resource myself to avoid being an under-informed coach when I’m supposed to be the one with all the answers.
I began with building the Science for Sport website.
To make Science for Sport the definitive resource for evidence-based sports science.
But I ran into another problem…
Research is conducted at an unmanageable rate - over 1,000 new sports science studies are published every month!
If I couldn’t keep up with them, how would coaches and trainers - who are much busier than me - do it?
It was this question that led me to create the Performance Digest.
A monthly digital magazine carefully curated by professionally certified sports scientists and strength and conditioning coaches. Designed to be quickly consumed (without sacrificing any of the important information) and immediately actionable - so you can update, modify, and improve your current athlete training programs the minute you get your subscription.
45+ issues and almost 2,000 members later…
The Performance Digest community is bigger, stronger, and offers more value for evidence-based coaches than most other sports science reviews ever could.
Join us on our mission to apply the latest sports science to win more games, build better athletes, and grow a rewarding career.
